          • Back to the coolant thread Russ I"ve always used cheap coolant and had no problems but I"m paranoid about earth wires. I earth any coolant pipes which are insulated from the engine and anything else. Part of my madness is because I am a HF radio freak and they will pick up any stange currents. (us old pensioners can"t afford sat. phones)

            • G"day there max.........chap mentioned to me some time back that there is always a very small elec current in our engine waters, generated from our alternators, he said where / how it dissipates rather than just building higher and higher within our closed circuit cooling systems had him baffled......he likened it to "black magic " happening. He said metering just how much "power" was flowing around was easy, he mentioned a ball park figure.......but i"ve forgotten what that was.Hence your method of "earthing" seems a good idea.Lastly........you being a "poor pensioner"...........christ, you"re the richest bugger in Darwin, Tennent ck all those yrs made sure of that..... ;D ;D...( hi to Ira as well )cheers mate.......

              • Hi Max, Some people just never learn that going up ladders can be less than sensable especialy when the go to the top end instead of 2 rungs to get the next lot of suport cables for the single pole antenna, then they jump of because the single lot of wires breaks, then from the 4 metres they think they can land on their feet on concrete hard clays with no damage. I used to believe I was invincable but I was proved wrong.

                • G"day Des. That sounds painfull! The only complaint I have about this life is pain. At times it"s a bit over the top. I"ve found after being on the planet for 67yrs. that you have to learn to live in the "moment" Enjoy every second, even if you"re cleaning the out house. That way you never hurry but get the job done quicker. The same applies to flying. Never be in a hurry to get airbourne. Less chance of forgetting something. These days everyone says "how are you" I always reply "The best day of my life" It gets a smile or a laugh. Safe flying - Mad Max

                  • HATE oil leaks........hate emMe soob has this bleedin drip from around me sump plug........just a drop or 2 over 2...3 days, that ends up looking messy. Cranked the plug tight as, no go.Called into me soob dealer asked for a O ring/gasket whatever......it turns out, it"s not uncommon to get that leakage........2 reasons.....you must use their metal washer just the once ( it crushes )....2ndly install the washer the right way........it"s got a more flatter side than the other side, the more flatter side goes up against the sump.Changed her over today.............prob fixed, so there you go ;D

                      • Oil leaks gives an engine character Russ. You"ve made the engine sterile, taken away it"s personality!

                              • Keep talking Russ. Your making me feel good about choosing an ej25, mainly thanks to the lady who rolled her sub. end for end dodging a lizard near T.C. Plus it sounds bloody nice with two hotdogs. I feel like I"m in a real aircraft (erection material)
