Well, certainly hasnt been great weather at Pooncarie...for flying that is, lots of wind and the boat on our lake was overtuned by the wind last night. Enough rain last night and the odd shower or two today so I hope all those that braved the weather have come out unscathed !!

Looks like you might have had the better weather around plus enjoyed yourselves, well done.I take my hat off to you guys who fly big distances in a straight line. An hour flying straight is just so boring yet I can do a 10 hour day flying around in circles [ well, sort of....working that is

Arrived at Burren Junction late afternoon Friday. While having a pit stop, I saw a gyro at about 200ft (just after take-off) heading north. I was told he had flown down from Mackay Qld. He had landed at a private strip next to Burren. I arrived shortly thereafter at the dirt road to the aerodrome. Yep, thats what the sign said - aerodrome. The road in was hard on the crest and soft to the sides, so I just stayed in the wheel tracks of whoever went before me. My 2WD motorhome can"t pull the skin off custard, so I did not want to get bogged. Nobody at the strip so I drove the length of the strip to check its condition. Rock hard, barely left any tracks. I unhitched my trailer and preflighted my gyro. Too late to go for a fly, so had a cuppa, bit of a rest, then off to the RSL for dinner.Had a bit of rain Friday night and a couple of squally showers coming through on Saturday but not enough to affect flying.Sunday was glorious sunshine all day with about a 5 - 10 knot breeze almost straight down the strip.Monday was overcast with a stiff breeze most of the time, good gyro flying weather.Spent most of Tuesday resting in the thermal pool to relax from all the excitment of the weekend.Looking forward to next year at Burren, only hope someone else comes to enjoy the GOOD FLYING WEATHER!!!!!
