G"Day Brian,Sent off an email to an expert in the USA, who has a business and informative web site, which deals with these sorts of propblems.Plenty of products on the market for addressing the situation........more money needed to be spent. We have been very fortunate to not be flooded out like some.Cheers,Mitch

I will be treating the southern and western facing walls, (eventually all of the walls) with a deep penetrating stone and masonry weather proofing product. Not a coating or a film but a product that actually seeps into cracks and porous material, locks the water out but allows the wall to breath. When I pour the copping concrete cappings, I will use the penetrant product in the mix.Yesterday I spent near enough all day on my knees pop riveting and sealing up. I still have to finish all the arches over the profiles on the wall flashing. The once in a 50 year flood they predicted here the other day turned out to be a once in 20 year flood. Lots of rain but no flooding here.Mitch

Its certainly a work of art Des, I have seen it in real life and the workmanship is excellent and I"m plain envious !! Fantastic to see it all coming together, its been a long time coming but boy, the wait has been worthwhile....and I dont even live in it !!...just would love a house like that !!Well done Mitch !

Thanks Des, Chopper.Lots of mistakes made by me and some tradies. These final two bedrooms I"ve done on my own. bar the texture coater and Sparkie will come in after the internal wardrobes/doorways are framed up.Wall is treated with rain blok externally and the texture coat is taking its time to go off. Cold and wet here. Have heaters and lights on the texture to assist in curing.Internal heat pumps installed and plumbed out thru wall. Condensors will be installed this week.Few more pics.

I think it got down to 26 here the last few days.I will be looking for long sleeve shirts and jeans if this keeps up.Graeme.

Gra Gra,26 and I"m just a bucket of sweat. :PCheers Graham, I know you have plenty of experience at this type of thing and an extra fan is a great idea. The little ceramic heater blower and the two 500 watt work lights on the stand did a pretty good job.Big test is comming. Got the 10 lineal meters of dpc down on top of the wall carried up a ladder and laid in 500 X 500mm pavers just ahead of a big rain front comming thru. I am not confident at all. The rain will be comming from the north west, so hopefully the southern face will stay reasonably dry. I"ll employ an oscillating fan if more drying is required tomorrow. This is all I"m doing to the top of the wall at this stage, whilst I work towards pouring the copping stones.Looking forward to going flying. Mitch

Texture coat took 2 1/2 days to go off.Been a wet and windy winter here in Tassie. So we have been busy with the build.Good thing the Rain Blok worked. It"s awesome to watch the rain hit the stone walls and just beads up and almost jumps off the wall. Top product but not cheap. Anyway, the application of the Rain Blok and temporary copping/pavers atop the wall, has stopped the migration of any water through the wall. I can highly recomend the Rain Blok.
