Test flew the old ej25 kruser cabin girl yest. morning. It flew like a dream. So easy to control compared to the RAF tail with add-ons. It doesn"t look beautiful but rides magnificently. Just like a lady I once knew ;D The missus has put photos on my (Max Tate) facebook with her I phone.I haven"t been able to find the pics Max...Aussie Paul.

Took the old girl for a half hr. spin yesterday. Flew like a dream again. Made some cosmetic adjustments to the tail. Thanks to all the parts suppliers including Bunnings aviation for some alloy tube. K/Mart aviation for the $35 rotor Tach. (Bicycle speedo) which works well. At last I have decent comms. (VHF dash mount instead of hand held) Can"t believe she flies straight with no trim tabs. I like to think that the distortions in the rudder and stabiliser which turned out to trim her perfectly was some kind of guardian angel making me do it. Here goes, I"m on the paranormal stuff again. ;D She"s built for long range. Plenty of on board entertainment. AM FM radio. option for music input. VHF HF and FM transceivers. The missus is coming for a beach flight on the weekend to assess the comfort, ect. If she passes it, I"ve backed a winner. The 1mm Alclad worked out so strong without any ribs that the rudder and stab. required no internal foam and came out 5KG lighter than the RAF rudder configuration. That"s great you took your wife out (old girl) But how about your gyro?

They"re on my Facebook timeline Paul (What ever that means) I think face book has altered the format in some way where not all friends receive stuff. I"ll click "share" and see what happens. I have since brought the top of the tail forward 2 inches to make it look better. I"ve had 3 types of starter motors on the pre-rotator and am covinced that the ND reduction gear starter off petrol hilux and other vehicles are the best (With 2 speed soft start resistor) They will fit a Rosco mount bracket if you machine off some of it in a lathe. The rudder requires very little pressure so I shall fit a biasing spring when I work out how to keep it in the middle in the unlikely event of loss of rudder control. The control is one push pull alloy rod. I am no fan of control cables.

Well the gyro has undergone the toughest of all tests. The Missus. She passed everything except the take-off chocks which I put under the wheels when warming up and pre-rotateing, throttle back and then pull them in with a cord. The bit she wasn"t impressed about was the fact that I accidentally jumped the chocks and was hauling the chocks in while taking off. I intended to yell "Chocks away old chap" and haul in the chocks and execute a dignified take off. The comfortable seats, the intercom and radio"s passed. O"l mate answered the radio from his M24 saying I was loud and clear 100 km away. Lots of storage space in the nose cone and two outside mounted canisters tailored to look like rockets. Will be in Melbourne tomorrow for a week. I"ll ask someone to transfer photoes from wifes "I" phone to forum.

Life is a checkerboard of days and nights and gyro flights and destiny, like pieces we play. We check, we mate, we slay. Then back to the closet we lay.

I altered (minimised) the vacume flow to the Horison gyro and on the next flight test she miss fired so badly that it cracked both mufflers. Scratched my head a while then adjusted the home made vacuum regulator spring back to as was. Welded up the muflers with extra gussets and she went like a beauty. Moral of the story is with a micro tech system the ECU gets it"s throttle position info. from vacume and not from the T.P.S. If you play with the vacume you mess up the ECU"s brain. The ECU only needs to know when the throttle is parked (Micro switch) Anyway I used to call her the MOG (Mother of gyro"s) As I"ve been out performed by these flash European grasshoppers I"ve re-named her "UD" (Ugly Dove) ;D

The black fellow strip is great for a Jab. Russ. Just bring a piece maker. No worries ;D I land regulary to discharge waste. Perfectly legal, pilot emergency. I"ve been officially asked by the conservation and natural resources people to report all croc. sightings as they are supposed to have a croc. exclusion zone of 50 km radious. As the indigenous CEO, a white woman (The black fellows love gyro"s) won"t let me through the airstrip gate I can now charge her with not only sabotaging national security but also endangering public safety. I have a 500 mtr. airstrip in the wetlands 4km from home. You may have to shoot your way out of there also with wild pigs, and dingo packs. Isn"t life fun? It will be under 1 mtr. of water by Feb. :"(
