Bones,Yes we have a Magni in the group and it flys comfortly at 50kts/ 100kmh.The guy you have been talking too sounds like a good car salesman! He must have the fastest Magni in the world! The ones I have flown and according to the flight manual I have it will do 75 mph and thats with a 914 Turbo. Me thinks he has got mixed up with Km/h and Mph . ;D ;DAdrian

Side Bar, bloke named Ted Hurley was talking to me on the phone the other day about a gyro, sounded like what he needs is your gyro with maybe a better pre-rotator....yeah yeah I know but NO can do.....anyway he may contact you may not, depends how much I frighten him with a price on his preferred option. ;DMitch.

Adrian - the Magni can cruise all day at 90 mph - 145 k/hr. It is the normal cruise spped for long flights. However - it is also very comfortable at 60 mph

Brian - I have a new GPS and will see if I can double check. Airspeed on the indicator usually shows about 95 mph but the GPS will only show groundspeed - I think? You could well be right however the Magni family maintains that 90 mph is the fast cruise rate and they are the last people to make exaggerated claims.

Thats correct, your GPS will only show ground speed ,thats why you have to do two runs, average the two GPS speeds, and you have the actual true airspeed !If Magni claim 95 mph, thats fine, the GPS will verify it! I"m just envious, my old girl is very happy at 60 knots on a good day and about 50 knots when the air gets crappy.

Sam,I agree but when talking to Magni pilots you need to talk MPH because the ASI is generaly calibrated in MPH.Regards,Adrian

Th old kt system with the lat and long maps is pretty darn good.Aussie Paul.

Guys,There will be a serious amount of Gyro activity at Bindoon over the long weekend of 3,4,5 March. This weekend will see the final breifings and gyro inspections prior to our departure for Lameroo on the 28 March. At this stage we have 6 gyro confirmed for the full trip and one that will only fly with us Bindoon to Norsman. If there are any new or buding gyro builders / pilots out there, Sunday would be a good time to come up, have a look and ask questions.Give me a call if you have any questions.Adrian0427094552 Adrian.
