Hervey Bay.Allan will give a full report as soon as he can.It would appear that the non-current pilot was re-aquainting himself with the aircraft and has become airbourne doing a high speed ground run/hop. the gyro touched down 100mts before the accident site and got airbourne again. the last touchdown was in a nosedown attitude, with the nose wheel ploughing into the soft runway, leading to a sommersalt or cartwheel. The seat belt anchors were attached to the seat bracket and the pilot and the seat parted company with the rest of the gyro. It is possible that the accident would have been survivable had the belts been attached to the frame.Beginner's quotation - "I hit a bad gust of wind just as I took off"Tim McClureBroken Hill

Have I got this right.A man dies in a gyro accident. Before his family has buried him, his death is used to push a personal agenda and take a pot shot at another gyro pilot!Daryl Patterson
