Birdman,Usually I'm reasonably smart.... but that is only an average thing. As it goes with statistics there are variances up and down the scale, so sometimes I can be exceedingly brilliant, at other times I can be profoundly dumb.My biggest problem given averages is working out if my 'average' intelligence is built on long periods of dumb behavior which is balanced out by very short but extemely intense periods of brilliance, or if it is from long periods of brilliance balanced by short bursts of extreme dumbness... usually the product of drinking. What do you reckon?Don't everyone rush to answer!Cheers,Nick.

When you finally think that you have done the best preflight ever done,[] get in and take off only to find that you forgot to take the air speed indicator cover off,[V] just goes to show, should have done the preflight 5 times instead of 4. Just hopin this helps some one else to think of it next time.[^]Mark

I musterd for a couple o munths a few years back, with a wasp nest in the ASI.Itd take bout a hour to reach 45k, and would still be do'n it while I was refuel'n.I'd only remember to clean it out AFTER TO, and its too late by then.Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were. You can always get the answer you want, if you ask enough experts.

Till the last couple of weeks, its been pretty easy to chech the ASI as its been reading 20 knots or so for weeks just sitting there during preflight. I usually do a quick instrument check once the rotors get 100 or so revs then not until I'm clear of obstacles after takeoff [just in case I see something I dont like ] like been working away for a couple of hours when suddenly in the corner of your eye you see the volt meter at 11.5 volts and start to wonder how long its going to be before the fuel pump decides to call it quits and how far it is back to base and how little you can talk on the UHF without using any power.BrianYou never know how far you can go, till you get there !
