His wife used to take note when he took off then call him up on the HF when his endurance was nearly up and say "YOU BETTER HEAD HOME DEAR YOU"LL NEED FUEL IN 10 MINUTES ". OOOOHH YES DEAR ACTUALLY I WAS JUST ON MY WAY HOME NOW !!!!! THAT WAS"NT YOU WAS IT BIRDY???? Deano

Woz...oh, how I do seek your approval of my slash worthy excercises of you, the master of all slashing of thine own limbs with exquisite industrial cutlery...this d.ckhead almost matched you in sheer repartee on sunday..yes, we did try to catch the off cut in the hand under the hack saw after the last one disappeared behind the bench, only to discover one should not put thine own hands in the path of thine own hack saw, lest the mighty hack saw sever the skin and fat of the index finger, funny thing is I felt every tooth of a 24 tpi blade ... requiring a paltry three stitches, don't look down on me too harshly..BUT! I have a lesson here..Pack a first aid kit - they're bloody handy when you need one.Have some 'Steri strips' on hand, they're bloody good for pulling big cuts togetherHave some 'medi prep' on hand, they're bloody good at cleaning up a wound site, Betadine helps with this too..Go to the doctor, don't wait 'til the next day, that way he won't laugh at you and tell you it's too late to stitch it up and stick with the steri strips...If you're going to pull the dressing off pull the tape toward the wound, that way it won't tear it open... lessons in painNo matter how bloody tough you think you are, you can still feel crook after stitching your own finger up under anaesthetic.. don't stand up in too much of a hurry lest you suffer a 'vaso-vague' reaction and keel over... (no, I didn't keel over!)Those doctors might seem like sadistic bastards, but just remember when they're poking around your injury they're just seeing if your nerves are still working on the other side.Fix it straight away, at that point in time everything is still numb, it hurts like f..k when you try to fix it later..Cheers,Nick.

I had a wasp build in mine while I had lunch. Took off to discover no ASI. Makes you land faster I've noticed. Also have taken off twice with the cover on but now can kick it off with the right foot. As for injuries, don't get me started, have got a pretty good list. Have used chainsaws all my life as we once owned a sawmill. I was at a mates place ( Mr Fisher from Home and away) cutting a tree down over a cliff when i slipped. As normal I let the base plate of the saw fall against my leg only to dicver my leg was 6"higher and the bar against my thigh. 43 stitches, but I went and back and finished the job that day and also a few hours on bobcat, Then had dinner with him. Nice bloke but doesn't like blood. We have all been young and dumb, and I still am! Ken P>S> Chainsaws dont cut or saw, they Hack, and if the cuts deep enough it doesnt seem to bleed.

Don't use 9" angle grinder with guard removed so as to alow 14" cut off saw blade to fit while wearing welding helmet standing under car cutting above your head as WHEN blade jams & brakes & 9" rolles over in your hands the lock will activate keeping grinder going & the handle will shut your visor & grinder will run up your left arm into your chest dam nere cuting bicept in half on the way Bouch

Yar ! I got one in the leg from a splitting wedge and sledge hammer .... it went in about 1/2" hardly bled at all but my sock got damp and I knew something was amiss... dug it out with my pocketknife too ... sharp as a razor it was.... it cut my thumb getting it out ...it was visicious ! hehehehehehe I saw one go through a 1x4 board on a pallet one time .... it was about 1" long and had to be doing 200mph if that'ed hit me i'ed have kilt me ! so I got smart and started the nasty task of grinding off the mushrooms on everything .... My dad has metal imbedded in his eye .... the Doc couldn't get out I cought one in the eye once that sent me to the Doc.... Safty glasses are a good thing ... but ONLY if you remember to put the things ON ! hehehe C ya !Bob......."
