I know its along way off yet and anything can happen between now n then, but i'm plan'n on buzz'n over next year, if time permits.[]Wot I need to know is, once i'm across the desert [the easy bit], wot am i in for when i hit the populated areas east of Birdsvill??I'v ordered WACs for the job, but they don't tell you where the power lines, shotgun tote'n cockies and wayward FWers are.[}]Also, isn't there a mountain range sumwhere east o here, a high one[:0]?? BTW, anyone who wants to cum along is most welcome.[ itd help break the monotoney of 700 odd sand hills between ere n Birdsvill[].]Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were. You can always get the answer you want, if you ask enough experts.

Frank, I'm a tea total.[ besides, i'm strange, not A stranger.]Wots me posie??...........here.Gota take the RAF Paul, it'll go further ona tank n the ferel, [ and crist knows wot sorta wether they got over there].Bout the torque tube, i recon i'v cum up with a simpler idea to cancel the problem. I'v tricked up the trim spring so's it applies a more consistant tension from full forward to full back. Went on a 2 1/2 hour bore run this morn'n and i reckon the pressure needed is close to half wot it used to be.Am i an inventer or wut??? Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were. You can always get the answer you want, if you ask enough experts.

Birdy, you are definately a wut!!!!!!Well done, After our chat I was thinking about longer springs that have a more gradual tension change. Like a 2 stroke you don't want the trim springs peaky.Seems like we both had the same idea. Ain't it grand when you do something like that and it works!!!!Ok on the Raf. I remember beating rain to Broken Hill a few years ago, and sat in the Raf for 30 mins until it stopped. I would have been very wet without that Cab!!!Aussie Paul. []www.firebirdgyros.com

Hi Birdy,Surely your shortest and safest route would be via Atula, Marqua and Glenormiston to Boulia? All of those places have strips and some of them certainly fuel. Even closer than Birdsville is Ethabuka which has a strip and is at the end of the dunes. Then it's plains and claypans to Bedourie via Sandringham. Almost a total landing ground then to Longreach.Cheers, Fish

Do you know any property owners in this area where we can refuel?Hoges That is the plan at this point in time Scott. I sure hope I have everything sorted out by then.Aussie Paul. Scott, i recon i can carry enough fuel to get to birdsvill, but i gota be able to land sumwhere to put the 2 jerrys in, and that'd be at lake caroline, in the middle o the simpson.Theres nuthn between here n birdsvill except the lake[ i'm hopen it'll be dry]."where we can refuel?"You say'n sumthn Scott??[ mebe i don't smell]"Surely your shortest and safest route "Actualy Fish, that'd be the missus."via Atula, Marqua and Glenormiston to Boulia?"Why take the long road?? I follow crows.Ethabuka ?? Wheres that? [ i havn't got me WACs yet]"Almost a total landing ground then to Longreach."I'm not plan'n on land'n except to p1ss or refuel.Sorry Frank, that's supposed to be interpreted as, "I'm here, and I don't know the rest of the answer." The coodinances would be in the GPS, but I don't hav'm on me.BTW, birdsvill will only be a p1ss n fuel stop.Cheers, the 'wut'.Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were. You can always get the answer you want, if you ask enough experts.

May I suggest you long distance travellers get the AOPA Airfields Guide? ASRA is affiliated with AOPA. In it you will find the sort of information you need, with contact info so you can plan ahead.AOPA FoundationPO Box 26,Georges Hall,NSW 2198Ph 02 9791 9099Fx 02 9791 9355e-mail mail@aopa.com.auHappy planning!BTW the VNC series of charts with a lot more detail than the WAC would be useful, the scale on the WAC is 1:1,000,000, while the VNC is 1:500,000. Biggendon will be on VNC7.Don't forget you should also have an up to date ERSA.John EvansThink logically and do things well, think laterally and do things better.
