But, it could even now be CLD, or centre line drag.. maybe. I figured it didn't matter what you did, the area of the radiator is there and has to be exposed somehere, why not up there and out of harms way? No stones, rocks, etc to worry about. The frame is semi flexible so the radiator should not be subject to harsh vibrations, being an alloy radiator that is a concern. The frame is also a form of roll over protection and will supplement the mast in such an event, more protection for me, maybe even the prop.. If I keep going I might even talk myself into believing its a good idea, but I have quite some reservations about it.Cheers,Nicholas TomlinAlarmist - www.alarmist.com.au - we scare for you

Well...reservations.....I too have an odd one but I do think all the postive aspects you listed are all good solid aspects so its with much anxiety the world awaits Saturdays trials !!!My main concern is if anything should come unglued up there, that there could well be a rather lot of noise happening towards the rear of the gyro !! however, I'm thrilled about CLD and also, the air will be cooler the higher the radiator is mounted and also much cleaner !!!BrianPooncarie NSW

Oh yes, the old things through the prop and things throught the rotor syndrome, not a happy one to entertain... You've problay just added 1 kg for tie wire in one fell swoop.I'm going to bed to think about it some more - cheers,Nicholas TomlinAlarmist - www.alarmist.com.au - we scare for you

Nick, I don't wish to hinder your experiments but the main reason that I don't run "overhead" radiators is that I have never seen someone suffer from scalding burns yet from a regulation rollover. I do not feel that a pilot would be so lucky with your setup.Don't worry about the water pump, it will work to 100% efficiency in any location, as long as it is fully submersed. How long is that prop?Tim McClureBroken Hill
