Rotax 912, 912S and 914 are originally certified engines.It means they fulfill the standard of running for 30 minwithout oil and without failure.How the engine looks like after such run, is another pair of shoes...The engines we are getting for home bulid, kit or experimentalare just "without papers", so cannot go into certified AC.The same engines are running in Diamond Katana and Diamona,FAA, JAA certified aircraft...It is quite possible, it's just a gauge problem, butflying (especially test flying) an AC without checkingand repairing such a problem is, to say the least,not wise.

Hiya NickNot for nothing but I have thought about Keith's loss.It is sad what happend.Here the man is,built a beautiul machine,spent loads of time and money,too make a dream that he has had for many years come to life,only to have it taken away in the blink of an eye.I know if he is like me it is money and time he realy could not afford,but went whithout scremped and saved and worked many late nights to make it happen.I know that I will get flamed for what I'm about to say but here gose,I will never have anyone fly my gyro untill I have first flown it.In my mind(small as it may be)I do not want to gamble someone eleses life on my work,but thats just me.Keath was doing it the way he ether by law or the way he had been advised to,so no fault on his part.I will look up the address and I will send a check,I wont be much but it's what I can afford.Also I have a very small personal machine shop setup in my dads shead so if I can whip out some small parts please send me a drawing I will create it free of charge(we have lots of rainy days here)you folks have helped me alot and its the least I can do to try to start to repay the debit.Now back to Paul.I do not agree in any way shape,form or fastion with what he did.Honesty is always the best policey,no matter what.But as an abussed child I can say beatings,physicaly or mentaly never helps and needs to stop before it's too late.I can never forget what my dad did to me but I have forgivin him.He was only doing what he thought was best for me.I will ware the scars till I am dust.Best wishes too allSonnyIntelligence is not a privilege,it is a gift and should be used for the good of mankind.

Sonny,Generous of you on all counts, especially your old man, I'd never forgiven my old man for what he'd inflicted on me, profound deafness in my left ear and tinitus of the FA-18 variety, I don't understand how an adult can't work out how to control a child without resorting to violence of that ilk.As to not allowing anyone to fly your machine before you do:Have your flown before?If not I would definately not be doing it myself as the experience factor is missing, and it is a critical one. A person with a few hundred hours up knows exactly what to expect, a low hour pilot does not. Please go to your local PRA chapter and get it checked out by everyone available, have it picked to pieces on the ground lest it fall to pieces in the air..Happy easter,Nick.

Seems to be to be a classic case of not accepting responsibilites for your own actions. Here we have someone who continues to get into grief with authorities and then takes offence at it. He continues to blame everyone else for what is essentially his mistake. He built it wrong, he didn't fill out the paperwork correctly, he dobbed me in, ASRA are after me, you people are mean to me. I decided not to go to Avalon etc, well, we know that is not true. You were removed from the list for your continuing poor regard for the law. Do you thinkt he authorites were going to let you in with the big boys with your poor record?Well my heart is bleeding for you mate.Seems to me like the sooner the sport is rid of you the better it would be for all concerned. You should go and play golf.With your poor regard for others, you put yourself and those around you in jeopardy.Meanwhile someone is down a machine. Even if he had insurance he wouldn't be covered if you flew it while flying illegally.You should pay for it. You accepted the responsibilty to fly it. You claim to be the best instructor doing your piece to save all the poor people who have no-one to go to learn from. You won't stand behind your words will you.
